- Prime Rib Roast (approximately 7 pounds, uncut)
For the Marinade Mixture:
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Granulated Sugar
- Liquid Smoke
- Soy Sauce
- Garlic (minced)
How to Make Texas Roadhouse Prime Rib:
- Step 1 – Combine Marinade Ingredients – Make the marinade 2 days in advance. Mix together the marinade ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Step 2 – Set Roast – The day before cooking, place roast on a wire rack in a large roasting pan. Pour half of the marinade over the roast. Flip the roast over and pour the rest of the marinade over the other side of the roast.
- Step 3 – Refrigerate – Cover with aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator the roast overnight.
- Step 4 – Set at Room Temperature – The day of cooking, let the prime rib sit at room temperature. Sit for 1 hour before cooking so that it can come to room temperature.
- Step 5 – Heat Oven – Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 6 – Place on Oven Rack – Bake the prime rib at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Cook until the outside of the roast is seared and browned.
- Step 7 – Reduce Oven Temperature – Then reduce the oven temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 8 – Continue Cooking – Then cook for 2-2 ½ hours depending on how you prefer your prime rib to be cooked. Cooking time and internal temperatures will vary.
- Step 9 – Meat Thermometer – Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the beef is cooked to the temperature that you desire.
- Step 10 – Removed from the oven – After the cook time, remove the prime rib from the oven. Cover it with foil and let it rest for 1 hour before slicing.
- Step 11 – Serve and Enjoy – Slice the roast against the grain is approximately ½ inch thick slices. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
