I love surprising my family with my creations. I’m kind of flighty and I’m not always great at committing to projects. As a result, I think my mom, my sister and my extended family think I’m somewhat incapable of making pretty things.

The truth is, I’m not, and I love proving them wrong. Every time I show up with a new project (like my baby bathtub diaper cake or this delicious homemade chocolate syrup), I feel like I’ve knocked their socks off by finishing a crafty thing and having it actually turn out.

I’ve never made any sort of attempt to set the bar low. I actually don’t even know why they don’t expect much from me, but it really does make the presentation of my creations that much sweeter!

Last year I brought a Nutella cheesecake crescent ring to my aunt and uncle’s house for Easter dinner.

I had mentioned that I might bring something, but desserts were already plannedso I thoughtit would take second place to the pies that are our traditional after-dinner treats.

I should have known better. Nutella is such a favorite, and I had combined it with cheesecake and baked it all into buttery, flaky Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.

If you’re a cheesecake fan, this cheesecake ice cream looks amazing, and I can’t wait to try these turtle cheesecake cookies!

On top of the deliciousness, it was all wrapped up and served in a pretty ring. How could I have not known that my dessert would be a hit!

When you unroll the Crescent Rolls you’ll need to separate them into triangles.

I used 12 triangles, which was one and a half tubes of rolls. You definitely will have enough filling to make the recipe with two tubes, and you’ll have a sizable dessert (but lots of filling) if you only use one tube of Crescent Rolls.
